  • Ok, well my Catholicism debate on xanga is over. If you wish to talk to me in a friendly non emoptional manner, please feel free to e-mail or instanst message me. I'm not dropping the subject, I just don't want to continue through xanga. This way each person can get their own response without getting insulted because they read something not intended for them and thinking it was. Good Day, may God wash the mud from your eyes.

    Catholicism

    Biblical Christianity

    Salvation (from Catechism)

    Salvation (from bible)

2068. "The Council of Trent teaches that the Ten Commandments are obligatory for Christians and that the justified man is still bound to keep them; the Second Vatican Council confirms: 'The bishops, successors of the apostles, receive from the Lord . . . the mission of teaching all peoples, and of preaching the Gospel to every creature, so that all men may attain salvation through faith, Baptism and the observance of the Commandments.'"

2027. "No one can merit the initial grace which is at the origin of conversion. Moved by the Holy Spirit, we can merit for ourselves and for others all the graces needed to attain eternal life, as well as necessary temporal goods. "

1821. "We can therefore hope in the glory of heaven promised by God to those who love him and do his will. In every circumstance, each one of us should hope, with the grace of God, to persevere 'to the end' and to obtain the joy of heaven, as God's eternal reward for the good works accomplished with the grace of Christ. ..."

1277. "Baptism is birth into the new life in Christ. In accordance with the Lord's will, it is necessary for salvation, as is the Church herself, which we enter by Baptism. "

    Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

    John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."

    Romans 3:23-24
    for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;

    Titus 3:5
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

    Romans 3:28
For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.

    Acts 4:12
"And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."

Believing that Christ + works get a person into heaven is NOT Christianity. In a doctrine where Christ + works = salvation, then Christ is not the Savior; he did not pay the price. From Scripture, we know that Christ IS the Savior, and he did pay the price; all who accept Christ as Savior are saved. The differences in the Catechism on the doctrine of salvation--the very concept that defines Christianity--cannot be reconciled. Catholicism is not Christianity--just as Islam, Mormonism, etc. are not Christianity.

  • Since my post on the 11th of March there have been 55,480 suicide attempts and 730 of those attempts were successful. Again, be aware, reach out, show love. Show HIM!!

Suicide is the leading cause of death among homosexual teenage youth.
30% of all teen suicides each yeah are committed by homosexuals.
50% of all gay and lesbian youth report that their parents reject them due to their sexual orientation.
In a study of 194 gay and lesbian youth, 25% were verbally abused by parents, and nearly 10% dealt with threatened or actual violence.
Teenage students (gay AND straight) say the worst harassment in school is being called ‘gay’.
In a national survey, youth (gay AND straight) described being called “lesbian” or “gay” as the most deeply upsetting form of sexual harassment they experienced.
Gay students hear anti-gay slurs as often as 26 times each day; faculty intervention occurs in only about 3% of those cases.
97 % of students in public high schools report regularly hearing homophobic remarks from their peers.
53% of students report hearing homophobic comments made by school staff.
80% of prospective teachers report negative attitudes toward gay and lesbian people.
11.5% of gay and lesbian youth report being physically attacked by family members.
45% of gay males and 20% of lesbians report having experienced verbal harassment and/or physical violence as a result of their sexual orientation during high school.
30% of gay and bisexual adolescent males attempt suicide at least once.

There are 8 passages in the bible referring to, or directly speaking about, homosexuality being wrong.
There are at least 200 passages referring to, or directly speaking about, love.
There are 15 passages referring to friendship.
The word mercy appears in the bible 261 times.
The word love appears in the bible 280 times.
The word grace appears in the bible 159 times.

I think it's time we put the majority of our focus on witnessing and loving, and showing mercy, grace, and friendship to ANYONE who lives a lifestyle that we don't agree with. Look at the numbers. I think LOVE completely outweighs being anti homosexuality. I'm not saying we need to condone it; in fact we need to let others know that we do not. I am saying share the love above all else. Who did Jesus minister to? Tax collectors, prostitutes, etc.

Show HIM! Show love! Show truth!

  • Some Haikus...

    Joyous the moment
At the end of life's long trip
    "Welcome home my child"

    In the end of days
When so few are called on home
    I know where I'll go

    Forever alive
Though my body has to die
    My soul never will

    Holy Lamb of God
    Perfect and annointed one
    Dance with me tonight

About Me

  • At the mere age of 23 I have, already, a lifetime of regrets. My soul has become heavy and distant; My inner child: abducted, innocence lost. I'm an old soul of sorts....
